How we started
It began with a folding table at the farmers' market
Mountain Homemade opened its doors after years of selling our pickles at farmers' markets. Sally Little, who started a pickling business in 2018 utilizing her Polish family heritage recipes, and husband, Shane, needed a place to make them and sell them.
The location was already outfitted for a commercial kitchen which we needed for our Arkansas food manufacturing license. We also wanted a place where other local folks could sell their hand-made items right along side our food.
In 2022 Mountain Homemade became a real storefront on Highway 62 where a woodworker's craft could sit next to a quilter's throw and the local beekeeper's jar of honey.
Today, everything on our shelves is consigned directly from the person who made it. No wholesalers, no importers, no mystery about where anything came from.
